Strategic Plan

The following Strategic Initiatives and accompanying objectives are set forth in an effort to fulfill our Mission and Vision by not only optimizing our current organization abilities, but also predicting emerging needs and resources required to support an organization that allows aging adults to feel empowered, supported, engaged, and independent.

Community and Member Involvement

We want the Golden Age Center to meet the diverse and ever-expanding needs of our community, and energize our community’s growing aging population through accessible, innovative, and multi-generational programs and services.  We strive to implement more wellness and social programs to fulfill the needs and interests of our growing population of members.

Funding Opportunities

We will work to ensure adequate and consistent funding as we strive to better serve the community.  We will seek out and prioritize funding alternatives with a diverse set of resources to ensure sustained and long-term operation and community support.

Identity and Image

We want to be a forward-moving Center that serves both aging adults and their families.  We want to ensure an image, a brand, and a facility that not only draws visitors and members to the Center, but also integrates the Center into the heart of the community by providing a facility that is safe, comfortable, and inviting.

Board Development and Staffing

The Golden Age Center should be equipped with a strong and engaged Board, experienced and committed staff, and loyal volunteers.  As we continue to develop programs and activities, there is increasing demand on the Executive Director, staff, and volunteers, and, as such, we need to ensure that there is adequate support to carry out the essential duties required to maintain an organization that is seen as a valued community asset.

THE POWER OF HEALTHY AGING FOR ALL!

The aging of the U.S. population is one of the major public health challenges we face in the 21st century. By 2030, every baby boomer will be age 65 or older, which means that 1 out of every 5 US citizens will be of retirement age.

Aging adults and seniors who maintain active lifestyles and social connections have shown to live more years in good health and have reduced health care costs, are better able to support other family members as caregivers, and are more likely to give back to the senior community as volunteers.  We offer the space and experiences that contribute to the health of our community, and provide a comfortable place for people to live their lives to the best of their potential.

The Comfort Golden Age Center Strategic Plan has been developed to support the aging and senior community in a way that promotes health, safety, and independence in an age-friendly environment.
