Hello, I’m Dinah Johnson, the Executive Director of the Comfort Golden Age Center. I have been part of the Comfort Golden Age Center and serving its members for over 12 years. I started out here by volunteering and initially serving as Director. Since taking the role of Executive Director, I have tried to carry on the legacy our early founders began of serving and supporting seniors in the Comfort area.

I have deep roots in the community as a lifelong resident. I grew up in Waring and maintain the family homestead to this day and graduated from Comfort High School. I have been married to Duane for 45 years and have two sons and two grandsons.

With the generous help and support of many volunteers, donors, and dedicated employees, I do my best to help the Center grow by adding new activities, programs, and services to the calendar. I enjoy hearing your ideas and try hard to find ways to implement them. I am happy to say that CGAC’s growth continues as more activities and programs are added every month.

A point I am very proud of for CGAC is that after many years of saving money and carefully planning for the future, the Comfort Golden Age Center Foundation was able to purchase the entire VFW building. This was a tremendous accomplishment for the Center and our community. The building has now been renovated, providing us with a more welcoming, attractive, and functional space where we can continue to expand our programs, services, and activities for seniors and the community.

My wish and hope for the future of CGAC is that we are working hard to get word out to our senior community so that people become more aware of what we do, the services we provide, and how we can help. We will continue to grow, and we will make our Center the go-to place for aging adults in our community. I would love to meet you. Stop by 628 Front Street for a visit soon.
